Selling your Wine
Occasionally we are asked by clients to dispose of some of their stocks. They may have increased significantly in value if in the investment category and may now be a good moment to sell. Any proceeds are NOT subject to UK Capital Gains Tax. Maybe the Doc has advised to reduce the intake or perhaps they may simply have stocks surplus to requirement! Whatever the reason, we are happy to find the best buyer and price for the wine. This is achieved through four possible routes.
- Brokers or dealers. We would approach them for their best quote.
- Christies would be approached to obtain estimates.
- We could deal through a U.K based Trade 'stock exchange' which covers a huge area of the market.
- We would happily consider re-buying the stock ourselves, at the best price offered by any of the three options above. For finding the best price on the UK market, dealing with the buyer, moving the stock and finalising the transactions, we ask for a 5% commission; it's as simple as that.
