Founded in 1948 by three families in the heart of Épernay, Champagne Esterlin was created with a simple ambition: to grow, produce and bottle their own Champagne rather than sell their grapes to the region's larger houses.
Today, Esterlin remains one of Champagne's most distinctive co-operatives. Alongside vineyards owned by the founding families, the House works with more than 100 long-standing grower partners across 52 villages, many of whom have worked with Esterlin for generations.
Unlike many co-operatives, Esterlin oversees every stage of production themselves. Every grape is pressed, vinified and blended under their own guidance, with no purchased must or partially made Champagne, giving the House complete control from vineyard to bottle.
Combining the diversity of Champagne's finest terroirs with the precision and quality control of a smaller grower, Esterlin continues to produce Champagnes that consistently outperform expectations.

Jamie Goode Discovers Champagne Esterlin
One of the UK's most respected wine writers, Jamie Goode, alongside William Beavington, tasted the Champagne Esterlin range for the first time. Having never encountered the House before, Jamie described the session as "a discovery tasting," approaching each wine with no preconceived expectations and judging the range purely on its own merit.
As they worked through the range, Jamie's admiration for the wines became increasingly clear. Highlighting Esterlin's extended cellar ageing, he remarked, "This shows us there's some seriousness in the approach of this champagne house." By the end, his verdict was equally clear: "Really impressed with these all so far."
At the end of the tasting, Jamie also praised Farthinghoe Fine Wine, adding, "You guys have done a great job. Personally, I think this is excellent." We're incredibly grateful for his kind words and for taking the time to share such an honest review of a producer we're proud to represent.

Esterlin's reserve wines are maintained using a solera dating back to 1972, blended with each new vintage before spending a minimum of five years on the lees, more than double the ageing of many non-vintage Champagnes. Unlike many producers, Esterlin also avoids malolactic fermentation, preserving freshness and energy before the wines mellow through extended ageing. The result is a House style with remarkable freshness, depth and complexity.
