Domaine Albert Bichot (Pavillon), Corton Grand Cru, Les Marechaudes 2020

The 2020 Corton Clos des Maréchaudes Grand Cru has another ripe nose similar in style to Château de Meursault's Clos des Maréchaud, red cherries, white-tipped strawberry, blood oranges and light cola scents. Again, the oak is deftly used here and perhaps more integrated. The palate is relatively pure and has a pleasing edginess to it. Real tension comes through. It offers sharp acidity on the finish but is cohesive and fleshy. Maybe it lacks some grip and backbone, but this is undoubtedly an enjoyable Corton. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
