The 2023 Volnay Vieilles Vignes has a lovely nose with finely delineated, vivacious redcurrant and cranberry fruit that leaps from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with quite strict tannins and cranberry and blackberry fruit notes laced with graphite, though it feels just a little stocky on the finish, where it needs a little more elegance. This is just a bit chewy.
