(35% new oak) Lurid ruby. Powerful, smoke- and spice-accented blueberry, cherry and violet aromas show excellent delineation and pick up olive and allspice notes with air. Sweet and broad on the palate, offering pliant dark berry liqueur and floral pastille flavors and a suggestion of spicecake. The impressively long finish features bright, minerally cut, an echo of sappy blue fruit and velvety tannins that come in late.
