Pol Roger, Reserve Brut NV NV

(roughly equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier; zero dosage; L22641980F): Light yellow-gold. Aromas of candied lime, green apple and jasmine expand with aeration, picking up notes of tarragon, ginger and fresh fig. Dry, tightly wound citrus and orchard fruit flavors are underscored by a chalky mineral quality that gains strength on the back half. Finishes dry but broad and fleshy, leaving a gentle floral note behind.
