The 2022 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru replaces the Vaulorent as the grower did not want to sell to Samuel Billaud. Vinified in five-year-old Chassin barrels, the pretty nose has petrichor and Granny Smith scents. The well-balanced palate has a detailed, citric core of fruit dovetailing into a more malic, sharp, penetrating finish. Again, there is just so much energy coiled up in this Premier Cru. Excellent.
