Domaine Ballot-Millot has established itself as one of Meursault’s most quietly impressive estates, marrying classical richness with a beautifully contemporary sense of precision. Charles Ballot farms with care and intention, favouring restraint in the cellar so that the natural character of each terroir can shine. The result is a range that feels confidently measured, finely textured and wonderfully pure.
There is breadth here, but never heaviness, instead layers of ripe fruit sit on a clean, mineral-driven frame. Ballot-Millot’s wines feel sculpted and assured, offering a modern interpretation of Meursault that remains true to its roots.
Ballot Millot’s roots in Meursault reach back to the late eighteenth century, when the Ballot and Millot families began assembling parcels around the village. For many years the two lines ran in parallel, tending their own vines in classic Burgundian fashion, until Charles Ballot’s grandfather brought them together and created a single, more coherent domaine. That union laid the foundations for the estate as it exists today, with prime holdings in some of Meursault’s most expressive sites. Charles has taken that inheritance and polished it, farming with care and giving the wines a more finely crafted, contemporary edge without losing sight of their traditional core.
