Clos Frantin stands out for its commitment to organic farming across an impressive patchwork of Côte de Nuits sites. There is an emphasis on straightforward, transparent winemaking, allowing each parcel to express its own identity.
The wines are poised and expressive, with bright fruit and a refined frame. They offer an honest, unadorned look at the Côte de Nuits - balanced, textural and quietly characterful.
Clos Frantin belongs to the wider Albert Bichot family of domaines, but its own identity took shape in the mid twentieth century, when Bichot gathered a cluster of important Côte de Nuits vineyards into a single, dedicated estate. Over the years those holdings were steadily expanded, stretching from Gevrey down to Nuits Saint Georges and giving the domaine a broad view of the region. The more recent move towards organic farming marked a fresh chapter, aligning the vineyards with a more thoughtful, environmentally aware approach. Today Clos Frantin stands as the group’s Côte de Nuits specialist, combining historic parcels with a clean, unforced style.
