Domaine Joseph Pascal is a quietly impressive producer, crafting wines that highlight the understated charm of the Côte de Beaune. The family works with a gentle, hands-on approach in the vineyard, focusing on balance and natural expression. Their cellar philosophy follows the same line: minimal intervention, careful élevage and a commitment to preserving freshness and detail.
The wines are open and graceful, showing light-footed fruit and a pleasing balance that makes them instantly appealing. Pascal offers a straightforward, sincere interpretation of Burgundy that feels refreshing in its simplicity.
The Pascal family have been tending vines in the Côte de Beaune for several generations, building up a small collection of parcels in and around Puligny and its neighbours. For years the focus was simply on good, honest farming, with much of the fruit sold rather than bottled under their own name. It was Joseph Pascal who gradually drew those threads together, consolidating the holdings and moving towards estate bottling in the mid twentieth century. Under his guidance the domaine developed a style based on simplicity, clarity and a refusal to overwork the wines. That quietly confident approach still underpins the family’s work today.
