The Groffier family established their domaine in the early twentieth century, starting with vineyards in Morey Saint Denis and Chambolle Musigny that had already been in the family for several generations. Under Robert Groffier’s stewardship the estate grew in both size and stature, most notably through the acquisition of parcels in Bonnes Mares and the fabled Chambolle Musigny Les Amoureuses. His son Serge, and later his grandson Nicolas, continued to refine the viticulture and bring even greater polish to the wines, always with an eye on texture and intensity. It is a lineage that has quietly transformed a family property into one of the most sought after names in the Côte de Nuits.
